Kenneth Cates Missions Ministries

In November 1967, the Lord led Missionary Kenneth Cates to leave his home in the Glenco community (near Burlington, North Carolina) to start a work in Brazil, with the goal of reaching lost people along the many tributaries of the Amazon River.  During Brother Cates' ministry, 14 churches were planted along the Amazon.

When the Lord called Brother Cates home to Heaven, his son-in-law, Dirceu Barbosa, assumed the role of Director of the Kenneth Cates Missions Ministries.  As of 2023 the total number of churches planted by this ministry exceeds 20.
